>Have been meaning to do it for a while now, but then organizing an event almost single handedly has become kind of very complicated. Anyways, here i go.
Today was day 3 of the celebration. the theme of the day was Business and Entrepreneurship. A lot of the guys in my college kept thinking that they required enormous capital / financial resources to start up. This is however not true in most of the cases. I hence requested fellow proto core team member and C.E.O of silver stripe software, Siddharta Govindaraj to come and address the students.Sid is bootstrapping his company, and who better to talk about bootstraping and starting with a lean budget, than a person who has been there and done that.
Sid gave an exceptional speech. He touched about the two approaches of sizing the company either through funding wherein you look at increasing market shares and user base or through bootstrapping where you take a more guarded approach by trying to sustain and increase customers and increasing operations through generated profits.
I owe one to sid. It was mighty nice of him to speak in common language that ensured that all the students sitting there understood what he spoke. Also i was happy that there were more questions today. I was sort of worried about the question answer sessions, velammal students have previously had the reputation to sit mum and make a complete mockery of our efforts. But today that was not to be. Adesh had to come in and force stop the questions in pour.
For the second day in continuation i took the stage for the last fifteen minutes and continued the brain storming sessions that i started yesterday. And boy! was i happy when the guys who promised help yesterday actually came up with solutions. proof enough that the sleepless nights put in was fruitful. The guys were responding.
We did the richard branson style , we said "screw it lets do it !!" and shortlisted a couple of names for the E-Cell. from what it seems its most probably going to be called " The Dreamchasers association"
Hope TDCA spreads like wild fire. and i hope the spirit is kindled in everyone of them.
