Kausikram on code, music and life.

>Maja (2005) - Music

>Well this is not defly vidyasagars day...... after listening to harris's and arr's work majas music can not b rated even mediocre
the first song 'che che' has the good ol pair of shankar mahadevan and harini singing ......but there is just not enough life in the song .....accompanied by an orchestra thts has done a gr8 job, the vocalists fumbled the job i guess ....shankar sounded as if he had a terrible stomach ache as far as harini is concerned 'NO COMMENTS'.
The next song 'hey pangali' is definetly the tea kada radio song ....the song has a good speed and manika vinayagam has done a good job .....it has got the rite amount of dapan kuthu to get a section of the theater crowd on their feet.....
Nxt Song is a disapointment as well .......the song is defly gona portrait a lost hero jus b4 his heroism starts ....man i can almost c the picture in my eyes .......vikram carying a bottle in his hand and walking on the streets ....
I think the nxt song 'Solli tharava' is by far the best song with probably the best blend between rhythms and vocals .....its kinda the harris jayraj style...... not too complicated but yet which will sound complicated enough to draw in fans......this is the song for the lonely sunday afternoons .......
The nxt song deffly surprised me .....in 'thai masam' shankar was @ his best .....starting the song with a voice tht defly resembles manika vinayagam and then slowly modulatin it to his trade mark not so gruff and not so smooth voice ......Anuradha Sriram has also done a good job and after a long time has cum back to singing in her original pitch (as in vande mataram with ARR)

overall wat can b said is tht this is in no way a match to ARR and Harris's work this year .......but this is good enough to make the movie a decent hit .....jus like in chandramukhi where everything else substituted 4 the not so good music to make the film a great success
